Port Blair, Nov. 15: Shri M. Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators along with Shri K. Hamza, Gen. Secretary, AATO met Shri Ravindra Sharma, Airport Director, Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair at his office and discussed the ongoing problems faced by all commercial vehicles due to the newly introduced high parking charges.

Port Blair, Nov. 15: Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A&N State Organising Committee, who is currently on a tour to Middle & North Andaman, visited the Dr Rajendra Prasad District Hospital, Mayabunder on 14th Nov 2022 and met the Medical Superintendent. He discussed the various issues pertaining to health care system in Mayabunder area. Shri Ayyappan expressed concern over the shortage of medical officers and nurses in the hospital. Posts of Specialists are lying vacant in the hospital and no effort has been made by the Health Department to post Specialist doctors. 

I am delighted to learn that 16th November is being observed as the "National Press Day" in A&N Islands along with rest of the country. This was the day on which Press Council of India started functioning as a moral watchdog for the media. The theme for this year's celebration is ‘The Media's Role in Nation Building'.

Port Blair, Nov. 15: The Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi celebrated Children’s Day with the students of Govt. Middle School Ograbraj, Muslimbasti, Mithakhari, Tushnabad and Namunaghar by handing of RO (Water Purifier) units to each school, which was earlier requested by the schools to PBGKR.

National Press Day is observed every year on November 16. It is symbolic of a free and responsible press in India. This was the day on which the Press Council of India started functioning.
